Upgrading Customer Urinals Project
By removing the existing urinal trough and installing hi-gloss cleanable wet wall panelling to the walls, we created an easy clean area.
We then replaced the urinal trough with high quality ceramic individual urinals creating a modern clean space We completed all the first and second fix commercial plumbing complete with new clean panelling behind the new urinal pods.
Who the project was for
Our client is the owner of Inflatanation and this work was carried out at their inflatable indoor park based in Manchester. The facility provides days out for children and families with a full warehouse of inflatable activities.
As the warehouse is self contained and the public are there for a number of hours at a time they need to provide washroom and toilet facilities that are clean, modern and hygienic. They needed a company that could advise on the correct design required and who could be trusted to complete the work to a fully functional, high standard.
We have been completing commercial plumbing projects for clients in the North West for over 17 years assisting with design, advice and installation.
Customer Urinals Plumbing Project
This project started with an initial visit to survey and discuss the work and for our team to provide advice on the best solution available to upgrade the urinals.
Once we carried out a site visit we then provided a quotation with details of the work we would carry out to upgrade the urinals. This includes step by step work that will be carried out and our design idea.
Once a quotation has been confirmed, we then prepare our health and safety risk assessment and method statement and schedule our commercial plumber’s diary. We then work around the customers opening times and need to book the work in with minimal disruption and downtime to their business. In a public used building like Inflatanation the management would need to plan alternative facilities for the public to use while we are working.
For this project, it was a working toilet, so we attended and carried out our first fix plumbing on day one which consisted of:
- Removal of the existing urinal trough
- Upgrading and running new first fix pipework to accommodate urinal pods instead of a trough
- Installing new clean, white wet wall panelling to the wall at the back of the existing urinal trough to create a clean, modern look to fit new urinal pods to

Our client has benefited from this project as follows:
- New modern looking urinal pods with minimal disruption and downtime. Effectively it is a mini makeover of the current washroom.
- Easier to use for their customers
- Easier to clean and maintain
- The washroom looks much more aesthetically pleasing for the public which gives an overall great impression on the cleanliness of the business
This was a two day project so we attended on day two to carry out the following work:
- Second fix installation of new urinal pods
- Connecting the urinal pods and testing for function and draining away
- Sealing all wet wall panelling and leaving in working order
Our project manager attended the site on this date to check over the installation and handover to the manager on site.
